Summary
The Service/Repair Technician II is an intermediate-level position demonstrating proficiency and working knowledge across installation and service functions. Under general supervision, this role performs a variety of skilled, journey-level duties in the installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery used in the operation of commercial food equipment.
Responsibilities include on-site customer support for installation and repair, including after-hours, holiday, and weekend service as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial food equipment for customers on contract and/or time-and-material basis.
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
- Support financial objectives through excellent customer service and relationship management.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, tools, and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with customers and present additional service opportunities.
- Assist senior technicians and mentor junior technicians.
- Perform vehicle maintenance and follow company driving and safety policies.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Associate degree or technical certification preferred but not required.
- Experience in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair of commercial cooking or refrigeration equipment highly desirable.
Skills & Abilities
- Intermediate mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools, service manuals, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Sound problem-solving abilities and attention to safety.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

Physical Demands & Work Environment
Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 75 lbs with or without assistance.
- Climb ladders up to 10 ft; occasional roof access may be required.
- Walk 3–5 miles and drive 5–6 hours daily.
- Kneel, squat, bend, and work in confined spaces as needed.
Work Environment:
- On-site at office and customer facilities (including commercial kitchens).
- Exposure to heat, cold, wet, and noisy conditions possible.
- Travel up to 50% required.
Schedule:
- Full-time, with flexibility for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and extended hours when needed.
